The 2019 Denmark Exchange program is live! CCHS students venture off on 4/10 to Slagelse Denmark to revisit friends made in October, when the Danish students and staff visited Concord, Carlisle and Boston.
We will post pics along the way!!!
Over the weekend students are spending time with their host families doing various activities.
On Monday the group traveled to Odense, Denmark which is the 3rd largest city in Denmark. To get there we traveled across the Great Belt East Bridge, the second longest bridge in Denmark at just under 7km.
Odense is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen. We visited his birth house and his residence. We took a tour of the Danish Railway Museum which is far more awesome than it sounds, and of course checked out the city square and Cathedral.
Tonight is the last visit with our Danish hosts. Tomorrow we set off as a group to Copenhagen for some sightseeing before our trip home on Wednesday.
Today was the Queen’s birthday!!! Unfortunately she’s not in Copenhagen but we did tour her Palace and saw the changing of the guards. After a stroll to another castle we had an excellent lunch in historic Nyhavn. The group then took a boat tour of the Copenhagen harbor and canals on a beautiful afternoon (it’s finally getting warm!)
Tonight is a bit of down time for packing and getting read to head home tomorrow.
